Molly has written to BBC Director General, Tony Hall, to complain about how coverage of the Electoral Commission report on Leave.EU breaching electoral law ‘undermines the rule of law, threatens our constitution and weakens democracy.’

She has complained about the BBC presenting the story as Leave.EU launching a scathing attack on the Electoral Commission and where the organisation’s founder, Aaron Banks, was given airtime to present himself as ‘the vigilante challenging the establishment and portraying the Electoral Commission as politically motivated’.

Molly said:

“The Leave campaign has become mired in deception, manipulation and electoral fraud. As a public service broadcaster, the BBC has a role to defend the our electoral laws, not provide a platform to those who have been found guilty of breaching them. Reporting the story in this way undermines the rule of law, threatens our constitution and weakens democracy.”
